I have two Flagtail Porthole Catfish, or Dianema Urostriatum, and they can be a very interesting catfish to watch. I bought these guys last year and have been keeping them in one of my 55 gallon tanks. They've done well with Geophagus and even more aggressive cichlids, but there is no doubt they're most active and seem happiest with more peaceful tank mates.
They don't grow all that big. I think mine our near the max size at 4-5 inches. The two are never far apart and stay primarily on the left side of the 55. I can't even think of one time where one of them has gone past the middle of the tank.
Most of their time is spent in this plastic plant where they'll just rest on the stems. They can go hours without moving (see video below) and at other times appear quite playful, swimming together and sifting through the sand substrate. In this respect they're somewhat similar to cory cats, but I would say even less active. It's kind of fun to watch a fish that appears so relaxed.
Here you can see the striped tail that gives them their common name. Very pretty fish, not only with the tail but the spots across the body.
And here is the video footage where they remain as still as a possible so you can get a really good look. Funny thing is they were quite active shortly before and after I shot this footage. They can alternate between busy and resting perfectly still so quickly.
