Moving fish around
Anyone who keeps bigger, more aggressive cichlids, has probably had to deal with aggression at some point. I've had to on many occasions and it usually means I have to start moving fish to different tanks and have to redecorate the tank to breakup territories.
Today, it was my male Green Terror in my 75 gallon (GT pictured above). He's only about seven inches and the GTs I've kept have never been true tank terrors, so I was a little surprised. The Festae was getting beat up, so I moved her to a 55 gallon where she won't be bothered. I then moved my more aggressive Cichlasoma Ornatums to the 75 to balance the power. So far, so good. We'll see how well that works.
I also moved my Gymnogeophagus Meridionalis to a 55. Figured while I was motivated I might as well get that done, too. I've had mixed luck with these guys and lost two rather recently. I'm hoping more space will help although aggression has never been the problem. Hope to get some better picks up soon, but they're camera shy.
