Aquarium plants shipment
So I ordered aquarium plants online for the first time a few weeks ago. Still not sure what to think of the experience, as it will depend on whether or not the plants survive or are replaced. I ordered from aquariumplantsandsupplies.com. They were offering free shipping and really good prices on plants. The problem is they ship from Singapore and it took three weeks for the shipment to pass through customs and arrive in Iowa.
The Philippine Java Fern, seen above, actually pulled through the best of those I ordered and as you can see, it's pretty brown at the moment.
This is the mat of star moss. Almost non-existent.
And the anubias, which has wilted and looks like it likely won't recover.
They've said their shipping me replacement plants. I'll be sure to post a future update on how long it takes them to arrive and how they look. For now though, my advice would be to stay away from ordering plants that are going to take a week or longer to arrive, especially when it's as cold as it has been in recent weeks.
