I picked a couple of Yoyo loaches at a local fish store (Teskes) a while back and they've been doing really well in one of my 30 gallon tanks. These little guys stay pretty active and spend a lot of time interacting with one another. You can get a sense of what they're like from the video above.
They do have a really interesting look with the black stripes. I'd like to get more loaches in the future. Much like cory cats, they're very entertaining to watch. They're more active than most bottom feeders.
They also don't get that large. I think these guys are supposed to max out at four inches. About the only thing I had to do in terms of special care was to remove the snails in this tank. I didn't want the loaches to eat them.
I also picked up a new Red Sword today from a local store (Roe). This plant was on sale, so it was a great buy. It's already a pretty nice size and it has some beautiful leaves.
Here is a closer look at the leaves. I put this plant in a pot with soil, as I've done with just about all of my swords now, hoping it can take off and continue to look as sharp as it does today.
