Nice surprise
So last night, I was checking out the Amazon sword in my 38 gallon. It's been doing well since I planted it in pot with dirt. Growing behind it, to my surprise, was a small red dwarf lily (you can see the two of the red pedals in the pic above).
I'd had a small dwarf lily bulb planted in that tank in a pot with dirt. A few weeks back air bubbles in the pot caused an explosion. I came down stairs one morning, turned on the light and found the pot empty and dirt all over the bottom of the tank. I never did find the bulb.
My assumption was that the bulb somehow ended up in the pot with Amazon sword. I went to dig it out this morning, but all I found was a deep root stem. I decided since the plant wasn't that big yet, I'd replant it in its own pot to give both it and the sword some space.
Here is what it looks like now:
Pretty cool. I'm hoping it does well in the new pot and continues to take off. I almost hated to move it given how well, and fast, it was growing, but I put the new pot in the same corner of the tank. Hopefully there are now more air bubble explosions. Still can't figure out exactly where it came from.
